Bon Jovi Still Rockin’! Are You?

Posted by Top Songs

Twenty six years ago five buddies from Jersey burst onto the music scene with, at the time, a fresh sound that took the pop charts by storm. Eleven albums later they are going stronger then ever. They had a meteoric rise to the top and have virtually stayed there ever since. Not an easy feat in this day of one hit wonders and pop idols.

They haven’t created much workout music, but last Tuesday they released their new album “The Circle” which is their eleventh to date (not including compilation albums) and it has been released to very positive reviews and with a large amount of fanfare.

So, how did these guys stay on top for so long? It boils down to three things, commitment to each other, dedication to their work and a whole lot of hard work. These three things can very easily be translated into your weight loss journey and help you on your way to a healthier lifestyle.

1.) Commitment to each other: Do you have a buddy system in place? Someone to hold you accountable to your workout or to help you when you’ve had a tough day to not eat that chocolate bar?

Start here.

You need someone who is going to be by your side when things get tough. When people start to tell you you can’t do it and believe it or not people will tell you that. You need a Richie Sambora…do you have one?

2.) Dedication to their work: This is probably the most important thing to your success. Unless you are dedicated to the work you are doing you will struggle to achieve your goals. Until you find a routine that works for you, something that you can stick to for a long period of time, you will struggle to reach your goals. Find the right diet that works for you and dedicate yourself to it. Find the workout routine that works for you and achieve your goals one step at a time.

You don’t become a multi-platinum selling group overnight and you can’t change your habits overnight either. It takes 21 days to develop a new habit. Stay dedicated from day one and before you know it your dedication will pay off.

3.) Hard work: To get on top and stay on top of the music world it takes a TON of hard work. You can make a hit, but can you make multiple hits and maintain a fan base over decades? Bon Jovi did through hard work. You can achieve your goals in the same way. It’s not always going to be groupies and platinum records, there are going to be tough times and the ones who work hard through those tough times are the ones that survive and truly sustain themselves in their lives. You can be that person. You can work hard day in and day out and achieve your goals. Just think of the Jersey Boys.

The new single “We Weren’t Born To Follow” from Bon Jovi rocks just as hard as when the band was just starting out. These guys have persevered and endured the test of time, will you? I know you can, just stick to these three things and you’ll be another couple of steps ahead of the pack.
