Evanescence – Everybody’s Fool (Demo V.2)
Carrie Lee’s fascination with pop stars such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera was the inspiration for the song. Amy Lee said that Carrie, 8 at the time, started to dress as those two superstars and that it angered Amy. It is track #3 and the fourth single off of Fallen.This is demo 2 of 2. This is about people who are fake and superficial, people that pretend to be what they are not just to be accepted and loved in society. Amy Lee wrote it when her sister started turning into one of these people. She was trying to say you should always be yourself for you, and no one else. It doesn’t matter what other people say as long as you’re happy with who you are, and you aren’t pretending. (thanks, chantel – traverse city, MI)

This is such a awasome song ! I get emotional verytime I hear it and by chance I am male.I was looking for a decent accoustic version but I could not find it if someone knows, leave a reply here or send me message please. Thanks

1. Look it up on iTunes…getting it illegally may sound tempting for you, as it used to me when I had less disposable income. The difference is that I know the penalties that most illegal downloaders do not.
2. Yes, I’m a guy, and yes, I do like Ev a lot. The reasons are artistic fascination (although Amy Lee is pretty hot
). She does have some questionable outfits though….

@AjAlexK I think you are missing the point. ofc Ev seek commercial success, but try to achieve it by their music alone, not by showing amy’s ass or boobs. In my record there is a difference whether you’re commercially successful being yourself or putting up an image, especially when this image is based on sex appeal. Music and stripclubs are 2 different things and should be kept apart imo.

britney sucks :p for me this song is about a regret you made because of the lie you’ve become.. i really love the lyrics in this song, it really has a meaning, all evanescence songs has meanings, love you amy.. XD

There are way too many people where i go to school that think they’re image is more important than what really counts in life and that is what makes them posers and they live a lie for so long that they forget who they truly are.

Love this song I to have tons of everybody’s fools in my school. it sucks bacause everyone looks up to them and crap when it’s all lies. Going into hight school next year and it’s gonna get worse

Lol you can really tell Amy’s voice is still maturing she sounds like a lil girl 2:07 throughout the rest of the song. She’s still one of the best singers.
