You can’t do it yourself. It will need to be bleached first.

if u want it that light u would have to get a really light caramel color because ur hair is so dark. n the way it turns out depends on how dark ur hair is. when u buy the dye, on the box will be pics of how ur hair MAY turn out based on how dark it is. i would recommend that u go to a beauty shop n have them do it for u then wouldnt have to worry so much. My hair was a dark black also n i got some copper highlights there the same color as my avatar. i hope i was helpful n let me know how it turns out.
