How should I season frozen black eyed peas?
I have a bag of frozen black eyed peas, the directions say to cook then season to taste. What seasonings should I use?

celery, onion, garlic, bacon, chicken broth, pepper, maybe something for heat like cayenne

Probably salt and pepper with a about a teaspoon of vegetable oil, but they will still not be tasty. Do you have some vegetable oil left lover from frying bacon or chicken. Use this to season instead of just plain vegetable oil. Also if you really want them to taste good. Get about four slicen of bacon and brown them slightly in the bottom of the pan so that they have the oil cooked out of them. Now follow the directions on the pea packet and add a little salt and pepper.
