This album is undeniably Weezer's worst, but it's still great. I am looking forward to the new album coming out soon. (Make Believe) The day's of Blue and Pinkerton are definately over, but life pushes on. Maladroit would have been a litte better if the songs were cut down to 10 like their other albums. Some of the songs are kinda of subpar at best while other songs are awesome.

I'm sorry but this stuff is just trash. The green album was a huge letdown (except for hashpipe and island) and now comes this god-awful album. When the blue album came out I was in third grade. It was the first real album I ever had (I didn't count the wierd al ones). Even though I basically only listened to the sweater song and buddy holly, it still thought it was amazing. I soon forgot about them and didn't even realized that they had released a new album(pinkerton). Years later, my friend and I were talking about music and he started raving about weezer. I agreed with him but I pointed out that they were basically a one-hit wonder. He disagreed and we got in a huge argument before I admitted that I only listened to two of the songs. When I got home I pulled out a shoe box in the top of my closet and pulled out the worn copy of blue. 40 minutes later I was in shock (not really) of what I had been missing. The entire blue album was brilliant! I went out and bought a new copy of it and while I was there I noticed pinkerton. It was only nine bucks so I figured why not. Although it has a dirtier sound and some songs gave me a headache it was still just as well written as their previous effort. Even though I didn't really like "el scorcho" or "getchoo" at first, they soon grew on me. I was really looking forward to green album but it turned out to be a letdown. Rivers used to be my idol but now I consider him to be just another fred durst. Both of them started out being really into their music (not that limp bizkit was ever good) until they realized what type of music sold more copies. Next comes TRL and then you have a sell-out. Im not really into calling people sell-outs but Rivers easily defines the term along with that sugar ray guy. I mean hell, rivers wore a NEON OLD NAVY TECH VEST! I mean he can do what he wants to but.... Anyways, their old albums with matt sharp are awesome. Sadly, the term "emo" ruined what could have been one of the better bands of the late 90's...

OMG Weezer rawk so hard on this album. Rivers Cuomo is a rawk god, have you seen the guy? Well I have, and if Rivers Cuomo is a rock god than I am the second cousin of the lovechild of Jon Bon Jovi and Meryl Streep. One reviewer commented that this album will probably 'appeal more to real fans, than the general public. He's right it probably does appeal more to the real fans (i.e Japanese anime nerds) then the general public (i.e pimps). People might try to say something to refute this like, "Oh this is the least nerdy album they've ever made". While Weezer may not be flaunting their geeky lifestyle they are still just as nerdy only in a different, worse way. Now they're like that lanky red hair kid you see at school that is dressing like a gangster to fit in with the cool kids even though just last year he was a member of the audio visual club. Yes Weezer are trying to be accepted with all the cool kids, and they end up looking like complete and utter fools. Like the idea of 'Cheap Trick in the new millenium', yeah me neither. The whole album reeks of rawkin, loud tunes that your grandma would say is 'hardcore' to the max. And everyone knows that the coolest music in the world is the kind that your grandma likes. Right. I really wish I could say there was a good tune on this album but I can't seem to think of one, well the video for Go Fishin' makes the song ten times better because the muppets are on it. Yeah, that's about it. I hate this one song that's called Space Rock more than the others though because it was misleading as hell. I was expecting a song about space and got nothing. Kind of like how I was expecting a decent album and got this flop.

Rivers has lost it. Everyone knows it and no one wants to admit it. Every album since their awesome debut has been a little bit worse than the one before it and I can only imagine that "Make Beleive" is gonna continue this trend. Rivers would be serving the music world much better as a lead guitarist in some random dude's up and coming band because the guitar work, as always, is pretty good, but the songs he puts around the solos just pale in comparison.
