@substanced83 Sabbath were a huge influece on ” black ” and ” death ” metal nonsense but Metallica laid the foundations or at least made ” thrash ” metal a force in the big league. Load and Reload have Sabbath influences but it’s not the cutting- edge Metallica of their first four albums. The lighning speed and punk element in their metal was what made them stand out and changed the face of rock. No more make-up, hair spray, fuckin’ spandex and sexist garbage that characterised metal ’til then.

Not only one of my favorite Metaliica songs…but one of my all-time favorites. Metallica (James Hetfield in particular) really show their musical range with this song and album.

Load, Reload, And St. Anger are awesome albums. I dont see why people dont like em.

I think this song is bad ass… I am not a big metallica fan but they have about 15 songs the just rock to me….

@mmbaines1982 You’re the one who started a slanging match. I simply said it was Metallica who brought the heavier end of things on to MTV and daytime radio. And that the days of Poison etc were over. They had a huge impact on the rock landscape. And as talented musicians they tried different styles in rock. Only retards stuck in perpetual adolesence think they ” sold out “. They fuckin’ grew up, got fat and bald. It’s called life. Bleeding me is as good as any of their classic, older stuff.

It’s a big claim to say they’d have disappeared without Metallica when Slayer released their debut at the same time Metallica did. Even still, how many of “the masses” know ANY of those thrash bands, minus Slayer/Megadeth? Can we not agree that this here is a great song and relax?

@SuperDsweeney You’re only talking about glam rock anyways. The 80’s had Exodus, Sodom, Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Kreator, Death Angel….and that’s only thrash. And even still, those are only a few of the many, many thrash bands that were doing well at the time. Please, just don’t act like you know what was going on in the 80’s when you have no clue
