People who think the Stones copied the Beatles in the psychedelic thing ignore or don’t know that all lot of bands were doing the same tripped-out thing at the time: the Byrds, Donovan, and countless lesser acts. Maybe the Beatles were copying them…?

comparing the stones to the beatles is like comparing beer to wine, or apples to oranges. they’re both quite different and yet quite similar. and they’re both great. if you’re a fan of one, you’re most likely a fan of the other, so comparison is kind of silly. besides, everyone knows the Who is way better than both of them…lol JK! no; the who, kinks, animals, stones, beatles etc… all great.*sigh* rock’n'roll USED to be so great(and i wasn’t even born yet)! nowadays, good rock is quite rare.

the period stones really rocks is from 68 to 74. what a great sequence of records, beggars banquet, let it bleed, stick fingers, exile on main street.

they are both perfect. the beatles probably were a little more creative than the stones. they have changed from She loves you to happiness is a warm gun, and think about how perfect the abbey road album is. if you listen to all their records you got the feeling that in the end beatles did more than the stones. because in the 60s the stones havent got any great album. just great songs. i mean, out of our heads is not a great album, but wer have satisfaction there, the same with aftermath.

I bought the Stones´ and Beatles´ records in 1967. I preferred the former.

@stercoraniste333 – Says everybody. If you’ve followed the careers of either band, you’d know this. The biggest example I can think of is when The Beatles really started to break their pop shackles and released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967. Then in December the Stones released Their Satanic Majesties Request. If you’re not familiar with those records, go google their album covers right now and compare. Know that I am right.

@johnnytastetest the stones sound nothing like the beatles. and anyway, the stones have way different musical roots, they started as a rhythm and blues band.

@dannyd1572 – Frankly, the Stones didn’t invent anything; they just waited for The Beatles to do everything first and then they followed with a version of their own shortly afterwards.

The Stones invented Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll. Mick= Sex, Keith= Drugs, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts were the foundation for the Stones’ Rock and Roll.
