I really heard the words today. I must have been open to them. This trying day had me at my first cup of coffee. Here it is, 4 o’clock and I hear this song on my radio. I’m keeping the faith. Devil, you need to stand back because as bad as my day could get, I’d never make a deal with you.

The correct spelling is Altamont, and the concert/festival date was December 6, 1969.

It was in 1970 as a matter of fact. It was the Altamot concert. The Stones were trying to put on a concert as big as the 69′ Woodstock Festival had been because they weren’t there. They wanted the same vibe, but made the mistake of hiring the Oakland Chapter of the Hell’s Angels for stage security. It all turned ugly in a hurry. That’s still a “black mark” on their record that they’ve tried to distance themselves from for years.

Keith Richards, living proof that one can abuse heroine for 30 plus years, and still play a mean guitar. LOL.

It was in the early 70’s that someone was stabbed during a Sones concert. Hells Angels were the bouncers … they said that that was the end of the sixties, right then and there.

Altamont was December 1969 – and I think it was the Grateful Dead who hired the Hell’s Angels.
Anyway this video is a visual and audio feast – according to legend the Stones are singing about their buddy Lucifer!
