@LochNessCO Exactly. I feel it’s also worth mentioning that Jon’s a way better singer live now than he used to be. Besides since most youtube videos won’t give the same quality as live, things change in the sound. But Switchfoot live, expecially now more than ever, is so epic.

I bet Dishwalla is by far the best Live performance band if ever seen, they are just awesome. But i also like switchfoot BTW.

album was the theme song to some wrestling tournament thing i dont know much about… but yea anyways give em a chance. I like switchfoot because they put out songs so much different than the norm. i could talk for hours about it but you probbaly dont care so yea

Check out their live Studio recordings here on youtube. They really arent bad at all. And this isnt their only song you should like!!! haha jk im a friend of the foot i love all their songs. But i will admit when people hear the name switchfoot they think of this song, mainly because it was more put into the mainstream music line than their others. “Oh! Gravity.” was also the theme song to Ryan Shecklers (skateboardin kid) show, and “Bullet Soul” (

@Harkian That’s not right… Cause’ I was to a concert with them yesterday night, and Jonathan (Lead singer) sang really, really, really great… Great voice, so he’s not a bad singer… I agree with you, that it doesn’t sound wery well, but maybe he was sick or something else… I don’t know… But he’s not a bad singer!

people who say he cant sing need to see them in concert. i saw them at the chili cook off and he was amazing like to the max, and id like to see anyone sing live like he does.

Sigh, another studio band. Such a shame, I like this song a fair bit, but this dude’s voice is massively worse than the album version. I don’t care if you prance around the stage or w/e, if you can’t do that AND sing well, then don’t do that. Just so disappointing.

same, i think if you want it to be “perfect” listen to the studio version.
I like the “flaws” and grit of live performances.
True there are some bands that are actually bad live, but this is not one.

there is nothing like screaming the chorus of this song with the entire crowd live at one of their live shows! i skip over this song now after hearing it so much, but ive seen them 5 times and thats still one of the better parts of the shows

That – and you can’t expect a carefully crafted studio track to sound exactly the same at a show. I personally prefer to see them live, and have them sound a bit less polished. Like the old days, if you’re an avid fan (like me.)
In other news – Tim Foreman’s hair is just .. words cannot describe it. XDD

A lot of people – not just on this video, but just in general – comment on how different Jon sounds live.
If you’ve actually been to a Switchfoot show and not just seen vids/clips from YouTube, you’ll know that the guys like to run around on stage a bit, jump off things .. work the crowd. They take the energy in the crowd, throw it right back at ‘em. When he does get to the mic, he’s sometimes out of breath and whatnot.
