Tim McGraw Tickets-Not For Governor!

Posted by Top Songs

There was a rumor floating around that country music sensation might be making a run for governor of Tennessee. Not true, says McGraw’s publicist, at least not now. The spokesman, Jessie Schmidt, said that an article published by The New Republic claiming that the singer is “seriously considering” a gubernatorial run in 2010 was clearing jumping the gun. Of course this news doesn’t mean that McGraw for Governor is out of the question. According to Schmidt in an article published on http://Pollstar.com, “McGraw would rather wait until his children are grown and his music career slows down a bit before making a go for it in the political arena.” Currently, McGraw has his hands full with summer concert dates already on the books and a brand new holiday movie co-starring McGraw, Four Christmases, recently hit theaters in November. With his rugged good looks, catchy country tunes and superstar wife Faith Hill, Tim McGraw seems to have it all. After Garth Brooks’ heyday in the industry, Tim McGraw stepped in and has not left the spotlight. He first gained significant notoriety with his lead single, “Indian Outlaw,” from his sophomore album, Not a Moment Too Soon. The ballad eventually reached the Top Ten on the country charts and even placed on the pop charts, becoming an instant crossover hit. After the success of “Indian Outlaw,” it seemed McGraw could not be stopped. An array of singles from the album kept popping up. “Don’t Take the Girl,” went to the top, “Down on the Farm,” reached number two and the title went to number one in 1995. Pairs of Tim McGraw tickets were some of the hottest commodities in the country and pop music markets, and continue to be.

After Not a Moment Too Soon, McGraw continued his climb to stardom. His follow up in 1995, All I Want, produced the smash hit “I Like It, I Love It,” and the resulting tour led to marriage between McGraw and his intro act, country crooner Faith Hill. The couple became country music’s darlings and helped generate more attention for McGraw’s next record, Everywhere. The record went platinum and topped the country charts as well as reaching number two on the pop charts.

Other albums that followed included A Place in the Sun, a Greatest Hits album, Set This Circus Down, Tim McGraw and Live Like You Were Dying. Each release seemed to solidify the fact that McGraw was not just your average country cowboy. He transcended genres, spinning hit after hit and keeping a tight hold on his immense superstar status. Though recently he has rejected his latest Greatest Hits albums as only one studio release has come between his last two compilations, fans and country veterans have settled that McGraw is one of those acts that no matter what the circumstance will be around for a while.

For some, it might be nice to see a Governor McGraw someday, but for now, most of his fans just want to keep listening to his down-home country ballads.
