umm. tough one. Well like Mariah Carey is kind of a diva, she isnt really a performer, more of just a singer. Madonna is known all over the world and a very good performer. So i think that Madonna is more popular.

Both women are superstars, but Madonna is more successful. She is the “Queen of Pop.” Not only will her songs go down in history, but she’ll be remembered for her style and her performances as well. She is an icon. Think about it: there is only one “Madonna.”

Madonna… mostly shock value. I preferred her earlier music. Marriah has an awesome voice though.

i would say Madonna simply because she is the Queen of Pop because she was able to stay through the 80’s to now
Mariah would be the best person to take the the Queen of Pop’s place if anything should happen but i don’t see that happening soon

Madonna in fans, appeal and success. Mariah can only sing, while as Madonna may not be the best singer, she has many talents, including marketing, dancing, creativity, etc.
And if no one noticed… Mariah’s fan base is basically in the USA. Madonna, however, she does has a good (but not very big) fan base in here, but in all other countries, she is MASSIVE. (that includes all 6 continents, except the USA, heh)

While Mariah may have a more consecutive string of hits in the US, Madonna has more of an overall worldwide appeal.
Mariah has broken several records during her music career, especially in the US.
The only thing is, is that no matter how many records you sell or break, or #1 hits you have, that does not make a singer an icon. And, Madonna is an icon.
Michael Jackson (r.i.p.) was the undisputed KING Of Pop.
Madonna is the undisputed Queen of Pop.
So, in a nutshell, I guess the answer is Madonna.
(btw, I love them both for very different reasons, and my personal preference is Mariah, but Madonna def. takes the win on this one).

Madonna is the much most popular one than mariah carey. In fact when Madonna holds concerts in Italy it always makes sold-out and ago always news in the television news. it is known from all, a kind of Michael jackson to the feminine one, not at all is the Queen of the POP Excuse if I have is not much correcting in writing in English because i’am italian. Hello!
