Why is Madonna adopting a child from Malawai when that child’s parents are still alive and well?
I’ve been watching the news.. she wants to adopt a 4-year-old Malawian child ……
It will be like winning the lottery for that one child but what about the millions of other Malawians? don’t they deserve a better life too?

I believe that the child was born out of a rape.

because that child’s parents probably want a better life for their child and know they can’t provide it….sure the others deserve a better life as well, but she’ can’t adopt them all now can she?

I’m assuming that Madonna doesn’t want a million children, only one. There’s only so much one person can do.
ANd as far as adopting when the girl’s parents are alive and well…there are tons of parents who voluntarily put their children up for adoption.

The mother of my children is still alive. I believe that many adoptees have living parents.
I don’t think Madonna can adopt all of the children…. I know that during the years she has however contributed Millions of dollars to try and help the situation for the families in Malawi.
*** Have you written your contribution check and sent it yet?

Yes, all of those children deserve a better life. Go ahead and mail a few million down there and help them out. For now let Madonna do her thing.

Actually the girl (Mercy) Madonna is interested in purchasing is without parents. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father is ‘unknown’.
But her extended family is in close contact with her, and love her very much.
However, the Material Girl’s desire to add to her collection is strong, and her money is obviously too tempting for Malawi.
Truly sick.

I think when a child advocacy group is protesting adoption(especially a specific one)……the Purchasing Pap should open up their ears …..not their wallet again.

i think there are too many children here in the united states that have no moms or dads and she should consider adopting one of them

The mother died during child birth. They are unable to find the father. Some uncles and a grandmother are still alive, but the child is still in an orphanage.
You can’t save everyone all at once. Sometimes it’s just one or two things you can do as an individual. Maybe she’s hoping to raise awareness world wide. Really, it’s none of my business why she wants to do it. I have no control or say in what she does. I suppose it’s up to her and the Malawian government.

Well, as others have said, because she can, and the girls mother has died. I think its rather sad her bio family wont step up and care for the little girl.
However, who knows why?

So you believe that its better not to save at least one life. I dont share
that opinion. If you see the news these mothers dont even have clean
water, food, they are dying. What would you do if you were a
malawi mother and you know you will die from aids/starvation or some
other disease. And this person comes up to me and says I can save
your child, come on I would give mine up inmediately, of course if youre
not a mother probably you wont understand that, I would give my own
heart if my child needed it. Yes these people are suffering but even if
USA is helping with water medicine its not enough they cant help
the milions of these people that are dying so Madonna is doing her
share, and yes the other kids do deserve a better life also, but adopting
a child from so far away probably costs around 30-50k, do you have
that money, I sure dont, if it were free, im sure hundreds of us citizens
would be glad to foster or help, I know us helps Malawi with food,
clean water, medicines, nets for mosquitoes, they get malaria and
die, its a very hard sad situation but if one life can be saved, she
already has saved 2 children, as a christian shes already done her
share, to me.

Rumors are all around about this. I heard the mother is deceased. But I also heard that her Grandmother wants to raise her. If that is they case Madonna needs to back off and let this little girl be with her family.

This child’s mother died, and they don’t mention the father–I don’t think he’s in the picture. Get your facts straight! She’s doing a good thing for a child and is bring awareness to people around the globe!
