I mean Nirvana had a catchy Cut with “Smells like teen Spriti” but there real claim to Fame was knocking Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” from the Number 1 spot. I think Cobain was a Decent Writer,but on a whole this Band was a dime a dozen to me. what did they do that the Pixies&other bands didn’t? the only thing they did that I truly dug was there Unplugged set,but this is way too much for a Act that I consider of the Moment back in 1991.

Nirvana is one of those bands that every “wanna be” depressed angsty tween scribbles the name furiously on their backpacks. First lets start off with a couple of rumors that everyone seems to cut themselves by. No I DO NOT think that Nirvana by it’s simple guitar riffs and mubly singer have in any way pioneered new rock. People forget that bands that were playing then (Tool, Nine Inch Nails) also had a lot to do with the way coontemporary rock is played. The only reason that Kurt Cobain even became popular is simply because he was too much of a wuss to deal with his life and stuck needles in his arms to blow his face away. Yes, Nevermaind has some good songs, but not freaking revolutionary stuff here! People, don’t fall into this game that everyone feels they are a part of. It’s not real, look away, you’ll survive your teen years…

Wow, a box set of home demos my 12 year old son could outdo and live recordings that most bands would pay to keep from seeing the light of day. So many bands deserve a box set more than Nirvana. They released 3 studio Lps of so-so grunge (90’s hip term for drug addled hard rock)in their brief span (not including the B-sides album). I would rather see a Foo Fighters box set, because now I know Dave Grohl was the only talent Nirvana had. Kris(t) and Courtney must have needed some cash. Everyone knows they are talentless hacks (stick to acting Courtney, you are passable at that) who were coattail riders. This is 3 discs (and a DVD) of music any local band could come up with. On a good night they could probably better it. Those who consider Nirvana to be the greatest band ever should first be pitied, then educated, because they obviously lead very clueless existances and need to quit worshipping rich junkie talentless has beens! If he were still alive everyone would be saying “Kurt who?” and VH1 would be doing “where is he now” dumpster searches. Sorry if I’ve offended anyone and sound unsympathetic, but the fact that Nirvana rose to such heights with so little talent, the obvious fact that Cobain was a selfish junkie who cared more about himself then his wife and child and proved it by blowing his brains out, and the fact he got so lucky and still had the audacity to cry “poor pitiful me” offends me.

Burzum, one of the defining black metal artists, came out around the same time as Nirvana.
Burzum was original. Burzum was 1 man. Burzum had talent.
Nirvana wasn’t original, Nirvana was 3 people, Nirvana had no talent.
Nirvana= Pixies Rehash.
Nirvana= Pearl Jam/Soundgarden Wannabes
Both Burzum and Nirvana only lasted several years.
Burzum contributed to help music live on, Nirvana destroyed it.

This is the band that defintely brought a negative impact on rock music for the past 14 years (1991-present), even some hair bands had more talent than this waste of time, this 3 CD Box Set is a waste of time and money, Nirvana may have brought grunge into the mainstream, but they were better grunge bands that came out the same time this poison of a band did and they did it better
(Soundgarden, Alice in Chains Anyone?)
This band had no talent (except Dave Grohl) and despite some good songwriting and a good song (about a girl),
They claimed they save rock, no they didn’t, they weren’t even about music, they were about image and looks and that’s about it.
I Blame this band for everything bad that’s happen in the 1990’s
from the release of nevermind and many other albums to the creations of other bad genres (Nu Metal aka Rap Metal/Rock, Pop Punk, Emo, new alternative) and then finally the worst to ever happen in the existence of the universe St. Anger
Metallica died in a truly horrible death in the worst ways possible (Nu Metal)
It was one thing for a band to change the face of the music industry, it was another thing to get them incredibly overrated and forever destroyed american rock, but to go in such lengths that destroys the greatest metal band in the history of music.
I Will never forgive kurt for what he did to rock music and never will.
