@Cmajor66 Yes, but we know from watching anime that wide eyes are the good guys and the smaller eyes are the bad guys, so we are subconsciously unwilling to have the eye surgery because we dont want to be bad guys.

@Shadowmagyk Indeed. Now, if we were to fulfill the Vonnegut absurdity of the situation, Caucasians would be “Asianing” their eyes in equal numbers, and applying “Night Xanthic” skin cream. But they don’t. However subconsciously, Caucasians have been enjoying their ethnic primacy since the unequal treaties following WWI.

The irony, of course, is that those who wish to resemble Westerners seem unaware that the very qualities we admire in the Korean face are the non-Western ones. I’ve lived in Japan for ten years, and gratuitous facial surgery is on the rise here as well now. Travel to Korea often and completely agree with you about the natural beauty. Cheers.

@Cmajor66 Most of the surgeries are to make their eyes wider like a westerners, and sometimes the surgery is done to fix actual problems with their eyes (i.e. – eyelids not folding properly, causing eyelashes to brush or poke the eyeball). A few of them have their nose done. All of them get dental work. Their beauty comes from the glamour style makeup that they always wear because they are stars. Most Koreans are naturally beautiful. Trust me. I live in South Korea.
